Sirenza Microdevices SZP Series of 2 Watt Power Amplifiers for WiMAX and WiFi Applications Named One of Top Ten Products for 2006 by Leading Online RF Industry Publication.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Sirenza Microdevices (NASDAQ: SMDI) today announced that the company's SZP series of 2 watt high-performance linear power amplifiers for WiMAX (802.16 d/e) and WiFi (802.11 a/b/g) applications has been named as one of the top 10 most popular products for 2006 by RF Globalnet, a leading online trade publication for the RF/microwave design industry.

The first two products to be released in the SZP series are the SZP-2026Z and the SZP-3026Z. Produced in InGaP HBT technology, the SZP-3026Z operates over the full 3.0 - 3.8 GHz frequency range with 12 dB of gain and provides over +26 dBm of linear power @ 2.5% EVM. The SZP-2026Z covers the 2.2 - 2.7 GHz frequency range with over 12.5 dB gain and also provides over +26 dBm of linear power @ 2.5% EVM. Both products operate from a single +5 Vdc supply and feature an adjustable on-chip active bias circuit providing the designer the flexibility to tailor performance based on the specific application. The SZP series also features power up/power down control to save power during receive modes in addition to an on-chip power detector. Housed in a low cost surface mount SOF-26 package, both products have an ESD rating of class 1C (1KV HBM) and MTTF of 1 million hours in accordance with Sirenza's 3R([R]) program for reliable, rugged and robust performance.
