If you've ever suffered from a sinus headache, you almost instantly recognize what it is as soon as it starts. You feel congested and stopped up. There is pressure in your head, your cheeks, and in, around, and behind your eyes. You nose often becomes stuffy, and it may even run. Another sinus headache! Sinus headaches usually occur in the morning, upon waking. They typically start with a feeling of pressure in the face and head, and the pain may be more severe when you lean over or lay down.

Deal With a Sinus Headache
Everyone experiences headaches every now and then and they can be brought on by many different reasons. A Sinus headache is one of the many kinds of headaches which is often associated with sinusitis or an inflamed sinus. An inflamed sinus blocked the nasal passage which triggers the pain in your head.

The headache will be getting worse if you will be continuously exposed to irritants such as perfumes, allergen and smoking. So how does sinus headache happen?

An individual who is experiencing sinusitis is complaining of pressure around the eyes area which radiates to the cheeks and forehead. He or she is also experiencing nasal stuffiness, swelling of the face and fever with chills.

Sinus Headache Symptoms
Sinus headache symptoms are painful like other headaches. The difference is the pain is localized in the sinus area. The sufferer of a sinus headache will feel intense pain in the forehead. This is the upper region of sinus cavity. The pain will continue down through the bridge of nose and finally into the cheeks. The sufferer shouldn't feel pain in any other region of the head.
Other sinus headache symptoms include stuffy ears. If you have ever flown in an airplane with congested sinus and experienced that terrible pain in your ears, then you know that the ears will be affected when you have sinus trouble. Always bring some benadryl when you go on a flight.

How to Get Rid of Sinus Headache

The resulting headache may be difficult to get rid of. Continually taking medications can cause side effects and may be responsible for long-term damage of internal organs such as the liver.

Make sure you drink enough water to stay hydrated. As mucous thickens, it blocks the sinus and thus causing a headache. At the first signs of a sinus headache you should increase your water intake. Sinus headaches are most common in dry weather because sinuses become dry and clogged. There are ways to increase the humidity in the air.
