BB: SFSH) today announced a broadening of its research collaboration with the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute and its intent to embark on mammalian-based studies of the anti-infective properties of its lead product, SinoFresh(TM) Nasal, Oral & Sinus Care. Both announcements are being prompted by preliminary in vitro study results demonstrating strong evidence that SinoFresh's breakthrough antiseptic nasal spray can reduce the infectivity of common respiratory viruses including adenovirus adenovirus

SinoFresh and the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute (LRRI LRRI Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute ) of Albuquerque, NM first announced their formal collaboration in May of 2004. Since then, LRRI has performed a series of in vitro studies designed to assess the virucidal properties of SinoFresh(TM). Viruses are widely recognized as the most frequent cause of acute respiratory infections and are a leading cause of child mortality worldwide.

SinoFresh Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Charles Fust said, "There are currently very few efficacious and commercially viable therapies in the fight against airborne viral infections. Our work with Lovelace could one day solve that problem and make a huge impact on human health."

Robert Rubin, PhD., President and CEO of LRRI stated, "The results we've seen to date with SinoFresh(TM) are very encouraging and gave us the confidence and enthusiasm to move forward with more rigorous in vitro studies that more closely mimic the human respiratory system. The viruses examined in the SinoFresh studies, adenovirus and RSV, are two of the most prevalent viruses associated with respiratory infections in people."

Future research will seek to expand the Company's already extensive knowledge base of the safety of its active ingredient, cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC (1) (Central Processing Complex) An IBM mainframe that has two or more central processors (CPs) that share memory. It is the collection of processors, memory and I/O subsystems manufactured with a single serial number, typically all contained in one cabinet. ), by conducting multiple studies in animal species. Additionally, LRRI is assisting in the development of a protocol intended to study the virucidal efficacy of SinoFresh(TM) and CPC in vivo. These studies are being conducted to build a research portfolio that will enable the Company to pursue a new drug application (NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) An agreement signed between two parties that have to disclose confidential information to each other in order to do business.
