The Olympic Handover celebration is being organised by the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership for the 2012 Games, which aims to ensure the region makes the most of the opportunities presented by the games. Among the highlights of the celebration will be a parade of past Olympians and Paralympians from Coventry and Warwickshire. A successful appeal by the 2012 Partnership has already tracked down 70 former Olympians and Paralympians from the region. The event will also feature a street carnival carnival, communal celebration, especially the religious celebration in Catholic countries that takes place just before Lent.
