Under the terms of the three-year contract, Broadwing will provide state-of-the-art frame relay, voice and dedicated Internet network services. These services -- running over Broadwing's patented, award-winning IP network -- will enable Sinclair's television stations in 40 markets to exchange information with speed and clarity.

Sinclair, which owns or programs 61 television stations and six radio stations, selected Broadwing because of its personalized customer service and the speed and accountability of its sales team. Sinclair was especially interested in Broadwing's ability to provide multiple services.

"Throughout the relationship with Broadwing, we've been pleased with the customer service and commitment made to successfully roll out these services," said Tom Waters, director of Purchasing and Administration for Sinclair. "The high level of responsiveness of Broadwing's service professionals is rarely seen in this industry."

Based on prior experience using more than one service provider, Sinclair made the decision to choose a single provider that met all of its communications needs -- and that had the infrastructure to meet the broadcaster's future needs as well.

"Being successful in today's business environment depends on building quality relationships with customers," said Dominick DeAngelo, president of Internet and Data Solutions at Broadwing Communications. "At Broadwing, our number one priority is to provide flexible solutions that meet the needs of customers like Sinclair in fast and accountable fashion."
