Popular Science stated: "Even with a tightly fastened harness, an aviator can slide under the straps and slam into the control stick or other obstacles. IBAHRS holds the crew member upright in his seat by pulling the harness straps tight and spreading friction over the chest." Also noted -- Simula has entered into an agreement with Jetstream Aircraft Limited of Prestwick, Scotland, to qualify and manufacture Passenger Airbag Systems for the Jetstream 41 aircraft.
