SimulTrans' Dublin Office's First Anniversary Marked by Major Expansion.


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 1998--SimulTrans, a leading language translation and software localization Customizing software and documentation for a particular country. It includes the translation of menus and messages into the native spoken language as well as changes in the user interface to accommodate different alphabets and culture. See internationalization and l10n.  company based in California's Silicon Valley, today announced the first anniversary and major expansion of its Dublin, Ireland, satellite office.

The Dublin office, one of SimulTrans' three satellite offices worldwide, currently employs 34 staff on-site (full-time and private contract) and will increase to 45 by year's end. The satellite office will soon move from its current, 3,000-square-foot site to a new 9,000-square-foot office in Dublin City's thriving East Point. According to according to

With the Dublin office expansion comes the ability to serve more clients with a wider range of localization and internationalization The support for monetary values, time and date for countries around the world. A number of major software companies have contacted SimulTrans' Dublin office regarding both localization and internationalization of their products. According to O'Leary, companies are increasingly seeking "turn-key" localization and internationalization of their software titles.

Prior to opening its Dublin office, SimulTrans worked with the Irish subsidiaries of Lotus, Symantec and Microsoft on various Latin American and Asian projects. SimulTrans soon discovered the need to establish a permanent presence in Ireland in order to compete for larger, multilingual mul·ti·lin·gual

"These companies, often based in Silicon Valley near SimulTrans' main office, wanted the best of both worlds: 1) an Irish localization center to support their Irish subsidiary; and 2) a local US office that could work more closely with their development team-especially when internationalizing products for the support of multibyte languages."
