Entering into the SCSI flash drive data storage arena with the first of a family of products geared for military/aerospace, telecommunications and network management applications, SimpleTech, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEC) -- a technology solutions provider offering products based on DRAM, SRAM and flash memory technologies -- today announced the launch of a 50-pin SCSI-2 flash drive available in 3.5 inch form factor with up to 4GB capacity.

SimpleTech's SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) product, which includes common command-set support (CCS), is a form, fit and function replacement for legacy systems using mechanical hard disk drives.

According to Gary Drossel, SimpleTech's product marketing manager, the drive's rugged reliability, 10-year data retention and readily available components significantly decrease the total cost of ownership by reducing or eliminating expenses related to product requalification, last-time buys and field application support.
