Simone signs 34,000 s/f in deals.


Simone Development Companies has announced signing 34,426 s/f of new leases at properties it owns and manages on Long Island.

In the largest transaction, Vann's Technological Services, Inc., a medical supply distribution company, signed a five-year lease for 19,450 s/f of space at 40 Melville Park Road, a 40,000 s/f industrial building in Melville. Brokers Ted Trias and Tom Tsiolis of Sutton & Edwards Inc. represented the landlord and Ralph Purna of Newmark of Long Island LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

In Hicksville, a total of 4,376 s/f of new leases were signed at 960 South Broadway. Singer Equipment Company, a commercial kitchen company, signed a three-year lease for 2,250 s/ f.. DCAP Hicksville, an insurance company, leased 1,300 s/f for a ten year term, and Magical Travel Bureau, Inc. leased 826 s/f in a seven-year lease. Jim MacDonald of JD MacDonald, Inc. was the broker for the three transactions.

In other leases at Simone's Long Island properties: Active Kidz Active Kidz is a short series of exercise television programs to encourage children to be more physically active, which was broadcast on the ABC at 4.30pm in Australia, it was presented by Scott Ehler and Amy Wilkins. The show was apparently very popular with children.  of Long Island, Inc., a child activity center, signed a five-year lease for 8,400 s/f at 210 Forest Drive, East Hills. The tenant was represented by Barbara Burke Barbara Hannah Anita Burke (born 13 May, 1917) is a former British athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres.

She competed for Great Britain in the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin, Germany in the 4 x 100 metres where she won the silver medal with her team mates

Jim MacDonald of JD MacDonald, Inc. represented the tenant; Richard Francis Richard Francis (dates unknown) was a famous English cricketer who played for the Hambledon Club.

Francis is known to have been a Surrey man by birth and he had played for Surrey teams before moving to Hampshire. He made 47 known first-class appearances from 1773 until 1793.
, senior vice president and director of leasing and property management for Simone Development Companies, represented the owner in the transactions.
