Simba Technologies Releases SimbaEngine SDK 7.4.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Simba Technologies Inc. announced today the release of SimbaEngine SDK (Software Developer's Kit) See developer's toolkit and Windows SDK.

SDK - Software Developers Kit (or "Software Development Kit").
7.4, the newest version of its leading Software Development Kit (SDK) for building robust ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) A database programming interface from Microsoft that provides a common language for Windows applications to access databases on a network. , JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) A programming interface that lets Java applications access a database via the SQL language. Since Java interpreters (Java Virtual Machines) are available for all major client platforms, this allows a platform-independent database , or OLE DB drivers, or an ADO.NET provider. SimbaEngine SDK 7.4 builds upon Simba's proven architecture for connecting to proprietary relational and non-relational data sources.

SimbaEngine SDK takes the power of Simba's proven SQL engine and exposes it through an SDK that allows users to build ODBC, JDBC, OLE DB, and ADO.NET drivers. A simple ODBC SDK that delivers the power of a high performance SQL engine for standards-based data connectivity, SimbaEngine SDK is a data access solution that allows proprietary data sources to be exposed to all of today's advanced query and reporting, as well as analytics and business intelligence products. With SimbaEngine SDK's push down capability, users can extend their driver to optimally use all the power of their database engine and drive the best possible performance for their ODBC solution.

"This version of SimbaEngine SDK incorporates many new features needed by today's information managers, giving them the tools they need to access, use, distribute and act on data," said Amyn Rajan, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Simba Technologies. "We've also incorporated many enhancements requested by our customers, maintaining SimbaEngine as the recognized choice for relational and non-relational data connectivity."

SimbaEngine SDK 7.4 adds support for a large number of additional scalar functions, enabling improved data access and manipulation. The new scalar functions allow analysts to access data and manipulate or transform it in ways that they couldn't conveniently do before. With the new scalar functions, analysts are able operate on data within a familiar SQL environment, instead of having to write code in another programming language to access, transform, and serve it to their applications.

Simba also has made a number of minor enhancements based on customer feedback, increasing the overall usability and robustness of the product.

Unlike other toolkits on the market, SimbaEngine SDK provides an open framework to develop an ODBC, JDBC, or OLE DB driver, or an ADO.NET data provider. The SimbaEngine SDK is ninety per cent of the solution, containing a complete, optimizing SQL engine, ODBC interface, and DRM API. Developers can create a prototype driver typically within one to two weeks, and have a fully functional, read-write driver with push down optimization within three to six months.

The kit includes a fully operational sample code driver to quickly and efficiently learn how to code a driver, Simba's Quickstart template to quickly and easily connect SimbaEngine SDK to non-SQL data sources, thorough documentation, Simba's high performance SQL Engine, comprehensive test tools, and ready to use client-to-server networking components for easy solution extension.

SimbaEngine SDK is the complete solution for performance, extensibility and compatibility.
