Silverlink Announces Compliance with New HIPAA Rule EPHI; Electronic Private Health Information Rule Strengthens Requirements for Security and Privacy of Health Records and Information.

 voice solutions for client communication, today announced that the company is in compliance with the new ruling by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996, Public Law 104-191) Also known as the "Kennedy-Kassebaum Act," this U.S. law protects employees' health insurance coverage when they change or lose their jobs (Title I) and provides standards for patient health,  (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability), which goes into effect April 23, 2005. HIPAA Rule EPHI EPHI Electronic Protected Health Information (HIPAA)  (Electronic Private Health Information) supports original HIPAA legislation of 1996 under the Office of Civil Rights designed to protect the privacy and security of personal health records.
