Silver State Bank Names Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer.

: SSBX) President and CEO Corey Johnson announced today the appointment of Kirk Viau to senior vice president, chief risk officer. In his new position, Viau will be responsible for institution-wide risk monitoring and regulatory compliance.

Viau brings more than 15 years of banking experience to Silver State Bank. Prior to joining the bank, he served as a senior bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC FDIC

), where he served as lead examiner on numerous financial institution safety and soundness examinations in Arizona and Nevada. He oversaw multibillion-dollar banks, industrial loan companies and credit card banks.

Viau graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's of business with an emphasis in finance from Arizona State University Arizona State University, at Tempe; coeducational; opened 1886 as a normal school, became 1925 Tempe State Teachers College, renamed 1945 Arizona State College at Tempe. Its present name was adopted in 1958. , Tempe, in December 1989. Later, he returned to school and earned a degree from University of Colorado's Graduate School of Banking in July 2005.
