Silicon Wave, Inc. today announced that its Odyssey(TM) SiW1601 Link Controller integrated circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  (IC) and Protocol Stack The set of protocols used in a communications network. A protocol stack is a prescribed hierarchy of software layers, starting from the application layer at the top (the source of the data being sent) to the data link layer at the bottom (transmitting the bits on the wire).  software have received Bluetooth(TM) qualification, enabling the company to now offer a complete Bluetooth-qualified solution.

Silicon Wave's Odyssey SiW1502 Radio Modem IC received Bluetooth qualification in October -- and was the first single-chip radio modem to achieve this distinction.

The Bluetooth qualification provides the industry with an officially tested and qualified solution that includes full baseband, radio transceiver and link management functionality. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can design Silicon Wave's Odyssey solution into their consumer products and have complete confidence that they will pass the stringent qualification process. In some instances, OEMs that use the solution may not be required to re-qualify the radio portion of their end products.

"This qualification reinforces Silicon Wave's commitment to supply our customers with best-in-class solutions that enable them to quickly bring their products to market," said David Lyon, chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Silicon Wave. "Silicon Wave once again passed all testing in Category B, which is the highest level of qualification to date. Our ability to design, develop and manufacture solutions that surpass the technology requirements of the Bluetooth specification provides our customers with a significant level of flexibility in the design of their own products."

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group's strict qualification process guarantees that all Bluetooth products conform to Verb 1. conform to - satisfy a condition or restriction; "Does this paper meet the requirements for the degree?"

In accordance with the Bluetooth qualification procedure, a candidate for Bluetooth Qualified Test Facility, 7 layers of Ratingen, Germany, conducted the testing on the Link Controller IC and software and the Protocol Stack software. A Bluetooth Qualification Body at 7 layers then reviewed the test results and product documentation, granted approval, and listed Silicon Wave's Odyssey components on the Bluetooth Qualified Product List
