TI will leverage First Encounter for the design of complex, high performance digital signal processor A digital signal processor (DSP) is a specialized microprocessor designed specifically for digital signal processing, generally in real-time computing. "First Encounter complements our existing design methodology by helping manage the design closure at the full-chip level," said Mike Fazeli, director of worldwide EDA (1) (Electronic Design Automation) Using the computer to design, lay out, verify and simulate the performance of electronic circuits on a chip or printed circuit board.  for TI. "Our complex DSP designs now often exceed the capacity of the standard EDA block-level design tools. Silicon Perspective offers a solution that can help us achieve timing closure for some of our most significant designs."

TI will incorporate First Encounter in its DSP design methodology for floorplanning, including I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.
