Silicon Perspective First Encounter Will Support Texas Instruments' DSP Design Methodology.

Silicon Perspective Corporation(R) (SPC), a leading supplier of front-end physical design solutions, today announced Texas Instruments Incorporated's (TI) plans to use its First Encounter(TM) product. TI will leverage First Encounter for the design of complex, high performance digital signal processor (DSP)-based application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chips.

TI will incorporate First Encounter in its DSP design methodology for floorplanning, including I/O placement, macro placement and partitioning of large designs into blocks. The partitioning process generates accurate timing budgets used by the synthesis tools that are the basis of the block-level implementation.
