Signs of the times. (Letters to the Editor).
However, I was bothered by the larger element of deceit which Mr. Grigg seemed to miss entirely, at the foundation of which is the very question of the credibility of President Bush's "born-again" experience. As far as I know, Christian teachings are in deep conflict with Skull & Bones and the various other ideologies of his numerous duplicitous associations.
And one thing is certain: a "born-again Christian," presumably redeemed, does not continue on in life acting with duplicity. There is plenty of evidence of duplicity in Bush's aggressive actions to destroy our Constitution and lead us into world government, each step of which unfolds under false premises. Clinton may be a more obvious snake, but I have personally never felt as frightened about losing my freedom, my privacy, and the world's future as now.
Jesus admonished us to recognize the signs of the times. If we as Birchers recognize the deceit in Bush's "opposition" to the International Criminal Court when signs indicate otherwise, why is it that we miss the signs of deceit here? Bush has been far more successful in duping the majority of Christians through promoting an ideological battle between Islam and Christianity.
It makes perfect sense that at this juncture in history Christians are the ones he must deceive. Christians, more than any others, are the ones with whom he would find the greatest resistance if he were not able to scam us, because of the forewarnings in revelation. We who are awake know that his present actions will not serve to "defeat terrorism," as Jesus said we are entering times of multitudinous wars and vast deceit.
Christian psychiatrist Scott Peck, in his book People of the Lie: The Hope for Healing Human Evil, elucidates this best. He tells us that the psychopath who poses the greatest threat (and literally wields the greatest evil powers) is the one most skilled at coming across as a person of true and good character. Duplicity is key to such a person's power and success. The more overt psychopath like Saddam is not who should concern us the most.
