London -- The following list of recent 2006 events ought to raise alarm bells.

July 25: In a television series attempting to explain away the miracles of Jesus, the BBC BBC
 in full British Broadcasting Corp.

Publicly financed broadcasting system in Britain. A private company at its founding in 1922, it was replaced by a public corporation under royal charter in 1927.
 suggests that his body was thrown to be eaten by dogs after his crucifixion.

August 1: British schools have been told by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA QCA - Quantum-dot Cellular Automata ) that they no longer have to teach children right from wrong as a curriculum "core value." All references to Britain's cultural heritage will also be dropped from the core values section.

August 4: We do not know the results from this one, but Marie Stopes International was due to organise a "Masturbate-a-Thon" to raise funds. Marie Stopes is the British equivalent of Planned Parenthood.

September 1: Evangelical Christian Stephen Green is charged with using "threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour" at a Cardiff 'gay' rally. His crime? Handing out leaflets quoting parts of the King James Bible which forbid homosexuality.

October 18: The Vatican has requested financial accounting for every diocese in England and Wales England and Wales are both constituent countries of the United Kingdom, that together share a single legal system: English law. Legislatively, England and Wales are treated as a single unit (see State (law)) for the conflict of laws. . This is after bureaucrats in Lancaster diocese left its bishop and faithful $17.8 million (U.S.) in debt.

October 18: English and Welsh
As an adjective "English and Welsh" refers to England and Wales.


English and Welsh is the title of J. R. R. Tolkien's valedictory address to the University of Oxford of 1955, explaining the origin of the word "Welsh".
 bishops oppose a government proposal to grant tax and other benefits to co-habiting couples.

November 5: Protestant townspeople in Lewes, England, celebrate the 1605 Gunpowder Plot with bonfires on which an effigy of Pope Paul V

 (pope from 1605-1621) is burned.

November 14: The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is a professional association based in England. Its members, including people with and without medical degrees, work in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.  recommends euthanasia for "seriously disabled" newborns. One rationale: it might cut down on late-term abortions!

November 20: A police chief's representative says that child porn is not porn unless it features children of 12 or under.
