Signet Bank is using the product to improve customer service, reduce costs and offer new products which strategically position the bank ahead of its competition.

The new system is based on CheckVision Archive software from IA, the first client/server all items archive on the market, Unisys DP 1800 systems located at several remote locations and Unisys RAID storage.

"In 1991, Signet Bank became one of the first to use image technology to streamline internal bank operations and became first again in 1994 when we developed leading edge image services for our corporate clients," said Phil Setterlund, senior vice president at Signet Banking Corp. "IA software is allowing us to once again break a barrier in providing more all-encompassing information to our customers, both internal and external."

"Digital check archive opens the door to a number of new applications and services within a bank, as well as answer the increasing demand by customers for expanded digitized information which can be accessed via their local network or on-line."
