At the end of 2004, the center had 3. , South Hall, first floor, booth #SL2953) will showcase the new EM8550 media processor, the EM8605 high definition TV decoder and a sampling of MPEG-4 based appliances.

Sigma's EM8550 is a media processor chip that features a local bus and video input port to handle external networking chips, MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs).  encoders and other peripherals. The base feature set for the chip includes an embedded RISC processor RISC processor [Reduced Instruction Set Computer], computer arithmetic-logic unit that uses a minimal instruction set, emphasizing the instructions used most often and optimizing them for the fastest possible execution. , playback from DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

-- IP video set-top boxes from Samsung and InfoEQ, featuring

streaming MPEG-2 from ThirdSpace and streaming MPEG-4 from

Kasenna respectively;

-- Additional DVD players and set-top appliances based on Sigma's

MPEG-4 decoder solutions.
