Sigma (India) and Phoenix (Germany) sign agreement.


Sigma Corporation (India) Limited, New Delhi, India, a manufacturer and exporter of automotive rubber parts, has signed a joint venture agreement with Phoenix of Germany to manufacture anti-vibration mounts and rubber parts for automobiles, as well as heavy commercial vehicles and railways, both for indigenous and overseas vehicle manufacturers. The joint venture, having 50:50 equity participation and technical tie up, sets up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Mohali in Punjab which will start production in September. The plant will be imported from Germany and the technology will be updated for the next 50 years by Phoenix. About 75% of production will be exported back to Phoenix for European vehicles.
