Mobile professionals can check email, look up customer information from a corporate database, and catch up on the news as they commute. And when they travel, the AirCard 300 gives them the freedom to work as efficiently at the airport or in a taxi as they do at their office desks. The network interface allows them to leave the AirCard 300 plugged-in, to automatically connect to the cellular data network when powering up or following suspend-and-resume. The AirCard 300's notebook implementation provides breakthrough simplicity in installation and network connectivity.

Field service professionals can check customer information and product availability from remote locations, and update records on the spot, saving the time and hassle of re-entering data at the office. The AirCard 300, with suitably equipped Handheld PCs, also enables remote signature and bar code validation, boosting the efficiency and accuracy of pickups and deliveries.

All this functionality comes with minimal drain on the mobile device batteries. Its efficient design and advanced power-management technology enable the AirCard 300 to draw its power from the notebook at an average penalty of less than 10 percent. On handheld PCs, users can extend their wireless experience even more through an optional power pack that delivers up to 16 hours of additional battery life.

The wireless PC card shuttles easily between computers, making it the perfect solution for those who use multiple mobile devices. The AirCard 300's flexibility also is a welcome feature for IT departments, which no longer need to maintain or support an assortment of PC cards for their Windows-based mobile computers. The removable antenna is equally flexible, and it folds away easily for storage and transport.

"Sierra has moved beyond the modem paradigm taking wide area wireless connectivity to the next level." said Kirstin Gulbransen, AirCard Product Manager for Sierra Wireless. "The new AirCard 300's network interface on Windows 95, 98, and NT machines guarantees a quicker and easier wireless connection process combined with full suspend and resume To stop an operation and restart where you left off.
