Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR) (TSX:SW) announced today an agreement with Adino Telecom Limited, India's premier broadband solutions company, to distribute the AirCard(R) 750 wide area wireless PC Card and the rugged MP 750 GPS modem, for use on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) networks, and the new AirCard(R) 775 PC Card for EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution) networks, to customers in India. This agreement marks Sierra Wireless' first entry into the Indian marketplace and demonstrates its continued commitment to deliver wireless solutions to the Asia-Pacific region, building on recent distribution agreements in China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, and Thailand.

Based in Mumbai, with service centers in all four regions of the country, Adino Telecom markets telecom products and provides system integration and custom-built solutions to clients across India. Under the agreement with Sierra Wireless, Adino Telecom will distribute the Sierra Wireless line of wireless products through over 4,000 existing outlets of its parent company, ONIDA Group, and to enterprise customers, mobile professionals, and government organizations.

The Sierra Wireless AirCard 750 is a tri-band wireless network card operating on GSM/GPRS networks. It enables mobile customers using a notebook computer or handheld device to wirelessly connect to the Internet, email, and corporate applications with LAN-like connectivity when away from the office. The GPRS Multislot Class 12 capabilities provide the highest GPRS throughput on the market today and superior power management minimizes power consumption. A true Type II PC Card, the AirCard 750 integrates into the Windows notebook or handheld device and supports Windows 95 (OSR 2 and higher), 98, NT 4.0, 2000, Me, XP, PPC 2000, PPC 2002 and HPC2000.

The MP 750 GPS offers a wireless solution for use in vehicles and other rugged environments, and provides a durable and versatile data solution to users in field service and public safety industries such as police, fire, and rescue. A Class 12 product offering high-speed, tri-band GPRS wireless data and voice connections, the MP 750 features integrated GPS (Global Positioning System) and digital input/output ports for location tracking, alarming, and reporting. The MP 750 GPS also operates in extreme temperatures and meets U.S. Military and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) specifications for vibration, shock, and humidity.

About the size of a credit card, the Sierra Wireless AirCard 775 is a multi-slot Class 12 EDGE PC Card and the newest addition to the award winning AirCard PC Card series. Reaching speeds up to three times faster than on GPRS networks, the AirCard 775 is ideal for mobile professionals who are heavy data users, allowing them to send data at speeds averaging between 100 and 130 kbps (kilobits per second), with bursts up to 216 kbps. The quadband design (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) also enables global roaming on both EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks. The AirCard 775 becomes commercially available in North America and Europe in the third quarter of 2004 and commercial availability in India is expected in the fourth quarter of 2004.
