 and Siemens Business Services GmbH & Co.OHG have signed a global partnership agreement with Tivoli Systems Inc. Tivoli Enterprise will become a key component of Siemens' internal IT infrastructure, managing its critical business systems and server farms in Europe, Asia and the US. In addition to other market relevant system management solutions, Siemens will also use Tivoli Enterprise in its outsourcing (1) Contracting with outside consultants, software houses or service bureaus to perform systems analysis, programming and datacenter operations. Siemens Business Services will deploy Tivoli Enterprise initially across 130,000 desktops and over 4,500 servers both internally and across selected customers. This number will grow with the Managed Services business.

Siemens aims to achieve significant cost savings by consolidating multiple systems management tools and helpdesks at its outtasking and managed services operations. Tivoli Enterprise will enable Siemens to meet this objective by providing a single management solution for monitoring, security, user administration, software distribution, asset inventory and other critical services to Siemens' customers.

Siemens' agreement with Tivoli also includes a joint sales and marketing program and a product development partnership that will deliver new Tivoli products, extend functionality in existing software and add new services for the companies' joint customers.
