Siemens Nixdorf appoints Blechschmidt new President and CEO for the Americas and President of Pyramid Technology.

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 1996-- Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG announced today the appointment of Edward A. Blechschmidt to the Executive Board in Germany, effective August 1, 1996. He will head all operations for Siemens Nixdorf in North and South America and also assume the role of President and CEO of Pyramid Technology of San Jose in California. John S. Chen, Member of the Siemens Nixdorf Executive Board and Head of Open Enterprise Computing, will continue as chairman of Pyramid.

Ed Blechschmidt joins Siemens Nixdorf from Unisys Corporation where he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. With a long and successful career in both finance and worldwide sales and marketing operations, Blechschmidt comes to Siemens Nixdorf at a time when the company is poised to make major inroads into the IT markets in both North and South America.
