Siemens Introduces New GaAs Mixer MMIC For Designing Either TDMA Or CDMA PCS Handsets.CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 1997--Siemens Components, Inc. today announced Model CMY210, a highly advanced GaAs MMIC (Monolithic Microwave IC) An integrated circuit used in high-frequency applications such as mobile phones. Also known as "monolithic microwave/millimeter-wave IC," MMICs combine transistors and passive devices (resistors, capacitors, etc. that can be used for designing cellular or PCS (Personal Communications Service "The Model CMY210 functions as an up/down converter for radio frequency (RF) front-end designs. The MMIC provides an integrated LO amplifier with an LO frequency range from 0.5 to 2.5 GHz. The MMIC features low power consumption with bias voltage as low as 2.7 volts and extreme linearity performance with a typical input IP3 of +25dBm. "The combination of low power and a high input third order intercept point is the breakthrough designers have been looking for in their PCS and cellular RF designs," said Andreas Nitschke, product marketing manager, GaAs components, Siemens Components. "The CMY210 is the only mixer MMIC that fulfills the linearity requirements of TDMA and CDMA handsets for designers today. The market demands of the industry are driving designers to finalize their cellular and PCS circuitry immediately, no matter which standards they use. Our CMY210 provides optimum performance today." Siemens MMIC designers have combined their technical design experience with Siemens patented DIOM DIOM Dragons In Our Midst (book series by Bryan Davis) DIOM Design, Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual DIOM Digital Integration Of Mortars (Double Implantation One Metalization) GaAs fabrication process to create the CMY210. The CMY210 comes in the MW6 package, a surface mount SO type package, and costs $2.50 in quantities of 100k. The device is available in high volume quantities.
