In the Siemens booth (#617), attendees will see how Siemens innovations are setting the stage for fundamental changes in healthcare via live product demonstrations and an in-booth theater area featuring a Soarian(R)-enabled patient journey experience. Through its new generation Soarian portfolio of solutions, the company will demonstrate how IT solutions with a workflow orientation can manage not just transactions and data, but also the process of healthcare delivery and the interactions between members of the healthcare community. The result is that operations and workflow are streamlined and critical symptoms and disease can be caught earlier and treated more effectively, leading to better quality of care and reduced costs.

In continuing to expand Soarian's workflow efficiencies to the clinical departmental level, the latest Soarian departmental solutions (Oncology, OR, Critical Care, and Soarian Disease Management) will also be on display as works in progress in Siemens Emerging Solutions pavilion.

Additionally, Siemens Communications, Inc., is announcing the U.S. availability of its HiPath Healthcare Solution HiMed, a portal which features a bedside monitor providing patients with entertainment, service access and important medical information options. For doctors and other healthcare personnel, this solution serves as an efficient, real-time source of medical and record-keeping data. It is designed to serve as a patient's central source for clinical records, nurse calls, telephone services, and entertainment options (including television, video, Internet surfing, games, and radio). When controlled by healthcare personnel, the system converts to a point-of-care access device to essential patient data.
