Siam cement wholly takes over Boral Indonesia.

Thai conglomerate Thailand Siam Cement Public Company Ltd has wholly taken over mixed concrete producer PT Boral Indonesia as part of its plan to expand business in Southeast Asia. Siam Cement president Kan Trakulhoon said his company has reached an agreement with Boral Ltd from Australia, the old owner of Boral Indonesia. Boral Indonesia is a producer of ready mixed concrete (RMC) known with the brand of Jayamix with a capacity of 2.2 million tons. Boral Indonesia has 40 RMC factories located in various areas in Java and Sumatra. In addition, Boral Indonesia has other assets including production facility for concrete pipes and other types of concrete product and limestone mines to supply the feedstock for its products. Siam Cement is controlled by the Thai royal family established in 1913 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI). Around 30% of its shares are owned by the Kingdom Property Bureau. Currently it has more than 100 subsidiaries operating in various business areas such as cement, chemical, and paper and building material industries and in distribution business.
