SiRF Expands Executive Team to Support Its Rapid Growth; SiRF Appoints New CFO and VP of Engineering.

 (GPS) based location technology, today announced that Walter D. Amaral, 48, has joined the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer and Robert E. Bohn, 54, has joined as vice president of engineering.

Amaral comes with more than 25 years of accounting and financial management experience, most recently as senior vice president and chief financial officer at S3 Inc., where he was responsible for accounting and finance, investor relations Investor relations

Prior to S3, he was senior vice president and CFO at NetManage, Inc. where he was not only responsible for accounting and finance, investor relations, legal, purchasing and operations; he lead the acquisition of five companies in one year. Amaral also held senior financial positions at Maxtor Corporation, Intel Corporation (company) Intel Corporation - A US microelectronics manufacturer. They produced the Intel 4004, Intel 8080, Intel 8086, Intel 80186, Intel 80286, Intel 80386, Intel 486 and Pentium microprocessor families as well as many other integrated circuits and personal computer networking  and Litronix Inc.

Robert Bohn, Vice President of Engineering

Bohn joins the company with more than 30 years of technical management experience. He was most recently vice president and general manager at Magellan Corporation, a GPS company with worldwide retail distribution, where he was responsible for the Consumer Products Group, managing engineering, marketing, operations, finance and sales. Before that, he was vice president of systems at ELMS Systems Corporation and Director of Engineering at AST (AST Computer, Irvine, CA) A PC manufacturer founded in 1980 by Albert Wong, Safi Quershey and Tom Yuen (A, S and T). It offered a complete line of PCs that sold through its dealer channel.  Computer.
