Si2 Announces Member Demonstrations at the Design Automation Conference.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Six companies will be demonstrating their Si2 project-based products in the Silicon Integration Initiative “Si2” redirects here. For other uses, see Si2 (disambiguation).

Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) is a non-profit consortium of industry-leading semiconductor, systems, EDA, and manufacturing companies, focused on improving the way integrated circuits are
(Si2) Booth #1001 at the Design Automation Conference on July 24-27, in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden , Calif. In addition, SEMI and Si2 will be highlighting their partnership to address the increasing cost and complexities associated with design for manufacturability of integrated circuits Integrated circuits

Miniature electronic circuits produced within and upon a single semiconductor crystal, usually silicon. Integrated circuits range in complexity from simple logic circuits and amplifiers, about 1/20 in. (1.
.

The companies demonstrating products based on Si2 projects include:

Cadence Design Systems (company) Cadence Design Systems - A company that sells electronic design automation software and services.

: will demonstrate improved interoperability of three Cadence platforms running on OpenAccess. Encounter digital IC and Allegro Package Designer will be shown checking die and package compatibility early in the design cycle. Encounter digital IC and Virtuoso custom design will be shown implementing ECO E·co   , Umberto Born 1932.

Italian writer best known for his novels, including The Name of the Rose (1981). He has also written extensively on semiotics and British and American popular culture.
for timing closure prior to tape-out. These demonstrations will utilize a representative 90-nm design. Cadence will also explain and demonstrate the values associated with the new ECSM ECSM Electrochemical Spark Machining
ECSM Elliptic Curve Scalar Multiplication
ECSM Electrochemical Scanning Microscopy
Power Extensions, to be launched by SI2 at DAC See D/A converter and discretionary access control.

DAC - Digital to Analog Converter
. The ECSM Power Extension format is an extension to Liberty (.lib) format, and has been created to enable easy transfer of cell power information from cell library characterization, including active and leakage power, to design analysis tools that are focused on power and power rail analysis.

CiraNova: CiraNova: will demonstrate PyCell Studio, it's free product for the creation of universal OpenAccess Pcells and circuit generators. PyCell Studio allows creation of a single PCell library that can be used with full parameterization in any OpenAccess tool, including internal tools.

Gradient Design Automation: will demonstrate its OpenAccess based full chip 3D thermal verification products (FireBolt and CircuitFire) with scalability to multi-million gate designs using fine grain resolution for accurate analysis of nanometer scale designs and sensitive analog circuits. The products provide additional visualization of temperatures and related parameters within the die considering package parameters. A tcl based architecture and interface to standard formats provide ease of use and interoperability with physical design flows.

IN2FAB: will show OSIRIS Osiris (ōsī`rĭs), in Egyptian religion, legendary ruler of predynastic Egypt and god of the underworld. He was the son of the sky goddess Nut and the earth god Geb.  for rapid analog and mixed signal porting between processes and geometries proven down to 65nm with full integration to Cadence's Virtuoso; NemeSys, a new tool for 3-Dimensional silicon visualization, native on OpenAccess and integrated with Cadence.

Ponte Solutions: will showcase a yield sensitivity analysis system of nanometer designs. Yield Analyzer(tm) is built on the foundation of unified models for mission-critical yield issues for any designer of cell libraries, memories, IP, block-level or chip-level designs. For these designs, design rule checking is not sufficient anymore. In order to identify the trade-offs, the designers need model-based analysis system with actual fab-correlated models. Ponte's Yield Analyzer, delivers accurate analysis for designers to focus on the right optimization techniques.

Silicon Navigator: will demonstrate its complete development environment that is used to accelerate IC design flow migration to the OpenAccess database. The company will show the graphics, translation and database extensions it has added to OA. The company will also demonstrate custom layout editing, C++ integration, and applications that address RTL (Register Transfer Level) A high-level hardware description language (HDL) for defining digital circuits. The circuits are described as a collection of registers, Boolean equations, control logic such as "if-then-else" statements as well as complex event sequences;  and IP integration analysis on the OA platform.

The Annual Si2 Members Meeting will also be held during DAC on July 24, 6-7:30PM, in the Moscone Center The Moscone Center is San Francisco, California's largest convention and exhibition complex. The complex consists of two main underground halls underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, Moscone North and Moscone South, as well the three-level Moscone West exhibition hall across 4th Street. , Room #111. All members and prospective members are welcome.
