A new shrink-sleeve labeling system is designed for tapered or conical containers such as dairy, deli, or beverage cups. The R-Series Cup and Tub Labeler from PDC International Corp., Norwalk, Conn., can handle a range of round, oval, and square tubs while maintaining side-to-side graphic orientation. Cups are fed upside-down into the sleeve applicator's product-handling section, which reportedly eliminates product backlog or "shingling." This system can also label bottles and other packages.
