Shortpath releases visitor security system.

Shortpath, the web-based communication network for commercial properties, has begun installing a new Visitor Management System in response to demand for increased building security.

"For today's building manager, providing security is the number one concern," said Shortpath's chief executive officer Scott Mager.

"VMS allows tenants to communicate what visitors they are expecting. That goes a long way toward letting the guards focus on making sure uninvited, and potentially dangerous people, are kept out."

Shortpath's VMS allows both tenants and building managers to check visitors in and out in seconds. The system allows tenants to pre-print an ID badge for each important visitor and have them waiting in the lobby, to avoid delays at security checkpoints. VMS allows building management to keep track of visitors who are in the building, and to keep a complete history of those who have visited.

The system helps to manage security risks in large commercial buildings whose tenants get hundreds of daily deliveries. Tenants can register vendors who are authorized to make deliveries and specify anticipated delivery times.
