Shopping mall phenomenon opens 11 new East Coast stores.


Five Below, the leading retailer of extreme value merchandise to the teen and pre-teen market, announced the opening of 11 new stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Virginia, growing the total number of Five Below locations to 47 in suburban communities throughout the New Jersey-to-Virginia corridor.

The Five Below locations opening this week in New Jersey include Plaza 42, Turnersville, Deptford Crossing, Rockaway Rockaway, narrow peninsula, c.10 mi (16 km) long, SW Long Island, SE N.Y., in Queens borough of New York City. Separating Jamaica Bay from the Atlantic Ocean and isolated from the rest of New York City, the densely populated peninsula owes its growth to road and rail  Town Plaza, South Plainfield South Plainfield, borough (1990 pop. 20,489), Middlesex co., NE N.J.; inc. 1926.
