Shipping activity at Port Qasim.KARACHI, 21 March , 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where five ships carrying containers, palm oil, furnace oil and chemicals were accommodated berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday. Meanwhile two more ships with Containers and Furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was recorded at the Port at eighty percent on Friday as against seventy percent on previous day where a total of eight ships namely C.V Maersk Novazzano, C.V CSAV CSAV Center for the Study of Active Volcanoes (University of Hawaii)

Three ships M.V Ansan, C.V MSC Liana liana (lēä`nə) or liane (lēän`), name for any climbing plant that roots in the ground. and C.V Eddy Stone scheduled to load/offload cement and containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Saturday. M.T Hartati carrying palm oil is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday while another ship M.T Angelia is due to arrive on Sunday.
