) - Shionogi has launched Finibax 0.25g IV Solution Kit, a kit for its proprietary antibiotic agent Finibax (doripenem hydrate hydrate (hī`drāt), chemical compound that contains water. A common hydrate is the familiar blue vitriol, a crystalline form of cupric sulfate. Chemically, it is cupric sulfate pentahydrate, CuSO4·5H2O. ).

The new kit, which offers an antibiotic agent and solution together, simplifies the dissolution procedure, preventing medical errors.

Finibax, which was initially launched in September 2005, has a wide antibacterial antibacterial /an·ti·bac·te·ri·al/ (-bak-ter´e-al) destroying or suppressing growth or reproduction of bacteria; also, an agent that does this.
