Shingle recycling project receives grant.


The Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA CMRA Commercial Mail Receiving Agency

), in partnership with numerous Minnesota state and private enterprises, has received a $74,625 grant from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), independent agency of the U.S. government, with headquarters in Washington, D.C. It was established in 1970 to reduce and control air and water pollution, noise pollution, and radiation and to ensure the safe handling and  for an asphalt shingle recycling project.

Partners include the Minnesota Office of Environmental Assistance, Pollution Control Agency and Department of Transportation, the Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board, Bituminous bi·tu·mi·nous

This project is expected to accelerate post-consumer asphalt shingle recycling by using them as a supplement to hot-mix asphalt for road construction and other pavement purposes.
