Shimadzu, Central Research Laboratory to Unveil Protein that Spreads Cancer.Tokyo, Japan, Apr 25, 2007 - (JCN JCN Japan Corporate News JCN Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience JCN Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing JCN Journal of Christian Nursing JCN Job Control Number JCN Journal of Child Neurology JCN joint communications network (US DoD) ) - Shimadzu and Central Research laboratory discovered 9 types of protein which showed a marked variation in the numerical value on metastatic cancer. The research used central research laboratory's NOG mouse, an ultra immuno-deficient mouse in implanting human-derived pancreas and colon cancer cells. The cells were analyzed using Shimadzu's NBS (National Bureau of Standards) See NIST. NBS - National Bureau of Standards: part of the US Department of Commerce, now NIST. reagent, two types of stable isotope reagent which selectively indicates tryptophan tryptophan (trĭp`təfăn), organic compound, one of the 20 amino acids commonly found in animal proteins. Only the l-stereoisomer appears in mammalian protein. - a type of amino acid in the protein - and proteome pro·te·ome n. As a result they were able to identify 160 types of protein which showed quantitative fluctuation in the pancreas cancer cells and 150 types in the colon cancer cells. In a comparative analysis of the two, they detected 9 types of proteins that notably fluctuated in both cancer cells. Copyright [c] 2007 Japan Corporate News Network. All rights reserved. |
