Shift of KCOP news slot could bring cut of sex and violence. Instead of competing against KTTV, KCAL-TV (Channel 9) and KTLA-TV (Channel 5), the broadcast will now be up against the three network owned-and-operated stations, KCBS-TV (Channel 2), KNBC-TV (Channel 4) and KABC-TV (Channel 7). All three have stronger programming on before and after their late night newscasts. In addition, the network-owned stations likely have much larger news budgets than KCOP. "What they will be up against is a higher level newscast so they will have to rise to that level' said Rick Marks, a journalism professor at California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields.
