Sheldon Meleshinski: "they just ripped it out 'cause it looked sketchy".

How old are you and where are you from?

I'm 20 years old, from Vancouver, British Columbia British Columbia, province (2001 pop. 3,907,738), 366,255 sq mi (948,600 sq km), including 6,976 sq mi (18,068 sq km) of water surface, W Canada. Geography

Isn't that near the same area where Ryan Smith For the hockey player see Ryan Smyth.

  • Ryan Smith (Australian politician)
  • Ryan Smith (rugby player), Canadian rugby union player

Well, my parents live in the same town where Smithers Smithers is a surname, and may refer to: People

is from. I remember seeing him around back in the day.

Did you ever skate with him?

Not really. I always saw him skating around. I was a young little guy just starting, and he was like the big guy on campus.

So you never skated with him, ever?

Well yeah, I've skated with him a bunch now, but back then never.

Is it because you have one eye?

Uh, yeah, you could say that he was scared of me. I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

"Don't know the trade." A Street expression used whenever one party lacks knowledge of a trade or receives conflicting instructions from the other party.
. It may have creeped him out a bit.

How did you lose your eye?

My mom or my aunt saw some shit in my eye when I was two years old and that's how it came about.

So that's why they took it out?

Yeah, they just ripped it out 'cause it looked sketchy.

Since you have one eye, do you see it as a handicap or as an advantage?

Kind of both, so it seems anyway. I mean, it is a handicap but I can kind of use it as an advantage in some things.

Like with the ladies?

I don't think so, man. It's been pretty off lately. I could probably shine it up to go out, increase the bling.

Do you ever take it out and throw it at people?

Probably not as much as I should. I have a few times, though. I lost it once.

How'd that happen?

I took it out and was showing it to my friends in elementary school elementary school: see school. . I was twirling Twirling is any of several artforms, hobbies, or sport and recreational activities accomplished by spinning or rotating the twirled object either for exercise, or in a rhythmic, or otherwise artful manner.  it around and I dropped it in the snow and couldn't find it. I almost started to cry, but then my brother found it and he wouldn't give it back to me.

Do you wear an eye patch most of the time when you skate?

Not really. I want to, but it gets irritating. It gets super sweaty sweat·y

2. Causing sweat: a sweaty job.
and it feels like some shit's on my face.

Don't you have a Zero skull eye patch?

Yeah, but I keep on losing them. I had like 20 of them over the times I've been using them but now I'm down to two. I'll have some kid from out of town be like, "Yeah, I found your Zero eye patch." I guess I leave them all over the place.

I heard you can't skate switch because you can't see from one side.

I can skate switch, but it's a little bit harder. I have to tweak To make minor adjustments in an electronic system or in a software program in order to improve performance. See calibrate.

So you have to do a Beetlejuice to skate switch.

Beetlejuice?

You know, like Beetlejuice in the movie, the dude turns his head around.

Oh, yeah. I just go Beetlejuice when I've got to try the switch flip.

How'd you meet Jamie?

I met him at skatecamp up here in this town called Hope, just outside of Vancouver. It's a Christian skatecamp and the rumor was that Jamie was going to be there, so my friends and I went up there and he showed up.

So basically you lurked on him?

Oh, I lurked on him hard. We became really good friends; he'd pick on me and I'd pick on him. It was all fun and games "Fun and Games" is an episode of the original The Outer Limits television show. It first aired on 30 March, 1964, during the first season. Opening narration

How often do you come down to San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  to hang out with the Black Box crew?

Well, for the last little while it seems like I came down about four times a year. I've been having troubles over the border so I always get sketched out when I go down there.

You stay at the Mystery house when you visit. Tell us what you did to Matt Winterberg's (Zero/Mystery filmer) car the last time you were here.

Hey, that wasn't me! Well, it was a little bit of me, but, uh, sorry Matt. Actually, I shouldn't say any names either. It was kind of already destroyed; Matt destroyed it, we just helped it out a little. We tried to flip it down the hill, though. We only got half way and then we couldn't do it.

You tried to flip Matt's car down the hill? Wouldn't it have landed in the neighbors' yard?

Yeah, it would have landed in Big D's yard.

Who's Big D?

He's this crazy neighbor who brings out his gun and stands by the end of his driveway.

So it sounds like you've seen a lot of sketchy stuff over there at the Mystery house?

Oh, yeah. Totally. I remember we bought pellet guns a gun that fires small pellets, less than 3 mm diameter, usually made of metal.

. We were shooting glass bottles on this table and there was all this broken glass all over the place. We got back from a party and I was all wasted and I jumped on the table and got all cut up.

If you could be anywhere right now other than doing this interview, where would it be?

I'd probably be at Black Box. I'd be bugging all you guys that work there. That's my favorite My Favorite is an independent synthpop band from Long Island, New York. They released two CDs: Love at Absolute Zero and Happiest Days of Our Lives. My Favorite broke up on September 14, 2005, when singer Andrea Vaughn left the band.  thing to do. And I'd be skating Zero park.

Has anyone ever called you Smelleshinski?

You call me Smelleshinski. What's up with that?

Just wondering.

It's just a nickname growing up. I guess my whole family had it. Just kidding, only me. I think my brother first gave me that name.

Why, do you smell?

What? No, I thought it was just a joke. Is it? It is just a joke, right?

Have you been filming for any videos recently?

I've been filming for the special edition New Blood DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

Don't you have a job?

I'm working fight now. I think I have to go, but whatever. I'll wait 'til my boss comes and gets me.

Where do you work?

I work at Centre Distribution. I pack all the Zero, Fallen, and Mystery orders. It's basically the Black Box of Canada. I've been cutting down boxes for like three weeks straight.

Anyone you want to thank?

Everyone who's been behind me. I don't think I have time to list all the names All the Names (Portuguese: Todos os nomes) is a novel by Portuguese author José Saramago. Last question, I saw on Ripley's Believe it or Not that this guy could blow smoke out of his eye. Can you do that?

No. I can blow smoke into my eye, though.

That's not even as cool.

I think I got to go back to work now.
