Sheffield Increases Copper and Silver Grades.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Sheffield Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: SLD), (Pink Sheets: SLDOF) and (FWB: S2Q) continues its core drilling program designed to confirm the structural and ore control parameters at its Moonlight Copper Project in Plumas County, California, and herein reports copper and silver analyses of its tenth "HQ" diamond drill hole. Hole 06MN-10 was drilled vertically from the same collar location as angle drill hole 06MN-9, which hole was previously reported on November 20th. Hole 06MN-10 intersected 147 metres (485.2 ft.) of copper mineralization the most notable intervals of which are 40 metres (131.2 ft.) grading 0.53% copper and 7.0 grams per tonne of silver and 24 metres (78.7 ft.) containing 0.42% copper and 4.3 grams per tonne of silver. The assays from drill hole 06MN-10 are summarized below.

Holes 06MN-9 and 06MN-10 were drilled from a collar located approximately 60 metres (200 ft.) northeast of drill hole ML-245. Hole 06MN-9 was drilled to pass close to the projected drill trace of hole ML-245, a hole drilled by Placer Dome in the 1960's.

Corporate Update

At Sheffield's Moonlight Copper-Silver Project, Sheffield holds a 100% interest in the Moonlight deposit subject to a 2% Net Smelter Return royalty (purchasable for US$500,000) on metals produced -- by means of an option agreement on the 8 Diane Claims and by means of staking an additional 260 claims in the name of its wholly owned operating subsidiary, American Sheffield Corp. Sheffield acquired (April 25, 2006) the right to a 100% interest in the contiguous California-Engels Mining Company properties. California-Engels' properties have been held by that company since 1903 and host two disused copper mines which operated for more than 15 years, reportedly producing 161 million pounds of copper from 4.5 million tons of ore.

Based on extensive shallow drilling and resource estimation studies by Placer Development (Placer Dome's predecessor company) at the Moonlight deposit there is a 180 million ton historical resource grading 0.39% copper estimated to be recoverable from an open pit designed by Placer, plus a further 21 million ton historical resource grading 0.63% copper at the Engel mine and another historical resource of 43 million tons grading 0.56% copper at the Superior mine. While the historical resources were estimated by a major mining company, they predate theNI43-101 protocols and as a consequence the historical resources are not NI 43-101 compliant. The several historical resources should not be depended on. Management has every confidence the historical copper porphyry resources at the Moonlight Project can be substantially expanded both in tonnage and copper equivalent grade by additional drilling. Substantial incremental tonnage likely exists in other nearby deposits, some of which had initial drilling by Placer. Acid base accounting studies of the bornite, chalcocite and magnetite mineralization demonstrate the mineralization is environmentally benign and very highly unlikely to produce acid mine drainage.

Sheffield has now completed 3,134 metres (10,281 ft.) of HQ gauge diamond drilling in 14 holes with assays still to be reported from 5 drill holes. All of the Sheffield drilling is located in the Moonlight deposit. The results of Sheffield's drilling will be used to validate the historical Placer drill data when both data sets are incorporated in a new independent resource estimation scheduled to begin in December.

Quality Control and Assurance

A rigorous Quality Control and Assurance program (QC/QA) is in place, including systematic inclusion of standard sample materials, blank samples, duplicate samples and inter-laboratory check assaying. Samples are sent in sealed containers to ALS Chemex in Reno, Nevada. ALS Chemex is a recognized ISO 9000 registered laboratory. The control samples and duplicate assay results received for the drilling program demonstrated to Sheffield Resources that the results are considered reliable. Copper is determined by atomic absorption spectrometry after a four acid digestion of a 0.4-gram aliquot. A second copper determination plus analyses of silver and other metals are made by ICP-AES after a three acid digestion of a 0.4-gram aliquot.

The exploration program is managed by Robert Wetzel, a California registered professional geologist and qualified person. The technical information in this news release has been prepared in accordance with Canadian regulatory requirements set out in National Instrument 43-101. David M Jenkins, P.Geo., and president of Sheffield Resources is designated the qualified person for the Moonlight Project.
