Called the Shaun Alexander CHOICES "Yards For Youth" Challenge, proceeds benefit CHOICES Education Group and the Shaun Alexander Foundation, two nonprofits with programs for teens that develop life skills, character and leadership. The Shaun Alexander Foundation empowers young men through education, athletics, character programs and leadership training, inspiring them to reach their full potential as mentors and role models for the next generation. "I grew up watching the choices other people were making and what happened to them, and I learned a lot for my own life," Alexander said. "Now through my foundation I have the chance to mentor young men to make positive choices in their lives." In two hour-long sessions, business and community volunteers take teens through real-world exercises on academic self-discipline, time and money management and goal setting. "I see the CHOICES workshop as a natural, and national, extension of the work we're doing in Seattle," said Alexander. CHOICES Education Group engages 2,040 community volunteers across 39 states delivering workshops to 183,000 teens each year.
