SAN FRANCISCO -- The Sharper Image (NASDAQ:SHRP) today announced the successful launch of its exclusive Hybrid GP(TM) Germicidal Air Purifier, the Company's first fan-driven air cleaner. It offers excellent CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) with exceptionally low energy consumption.

Hybrid GP is ENERGY STAR(R) rated (http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=room_airclean.room_airclean) as the most energy efficient air cleaner (highest CADR per Watt) on the market. Its CADR for pollen is 192 cfm (cubic feet per minute) and its ENERGY STAR CADR per Watt is 15.23 -- 140 percent better than the next-best ENERGY STAR rated model and up to seven times more efficient than other ENERGY STAR rated models.

Hybrid GP is an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) air cleaner proven effective at reducing airborne allergens and irritants with the strongest electric field of any ESP air cleaner ever; which greatly increases the single-pass effectiveness of its 1,300-square-inch collection grid. There are no filters to replace because the permanent collectors simply slide out for easy cleaning.
