building designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by North Development Group is about to rise at 85 Flatbush Avenue Extension. Ismael Leyva Architects will transform the sharp angled lot, located at the intersection of Tillary and Duffield Streets in downtown Brooklyn Coordinates:

Downtown Brooklyn is the third largest central business district in New York City (following Midtown Manhattan and Lower Manhattan), and is located in the
, into a perfectly geometrical building.

To tackle this challenging site location, Ismael Leyva is creating a design based on the "Flatiron" building, one of the great icons of 20th century Manhattan architecture. In Leyva's design the transparency of the glass wails will blend perfectly into the street walls. The structure's fragile volume will be emphasized through the building's setbacks and repetitive balconies, and a powerful, curved shape will enhance the sharp intersection, giving the building a strong personality.

"We are thrilled to be participating in the renaissance of Brooklyn with the design of 85 Flatbush. This building will further enhance the opportunity for luxury living in the borough and bring classic design adapted to a modern setting," said Ismael Leyva, AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture , president, Ismael Leyva Architects.
