Shares of Galaxy Foods to Trade On Amex.


ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 1999--

Galaxy Foods Company (Nasdaq:GALX), the leading producer of nutraceutical soy-based dairy and dairy-related alternatives, announced today that as of October 6, 1999, shares of its common stock will begin trading on the American Stock Exchange American Stock Exchange (AMEX)

Stock exchange in the U.S. Originally known as “the Curb,” it began as an outdoor marketplace in New York City c. 1850. It moved indoors to its present location in the Wall Street area in 1921.
 ("Amex") under the symbol "GXY GXY Galaxy (astronomy) ". The Company's common stock is currently traded as "GALX" on the Nasdaq Stock Market Nasdaq stock market

The first electronic stock market listing over 5000 companies. The Nasdaq stock market comprises two separate markets, namely the Nasdaq National Market, which trades large, active securities and the Nasdaq Smallcap Market that trades emerging growth companies.
. In a press release dated August 5, 1999, Galaxy announced the filing of its initial application for listing on the Amex.
