Shared Technologies Cellular will support Prepaid Services at AKC Marketing Inc. and ACE Cash Express, Inc.

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 2002

Shared Technologies Cellular, Inc. (STC) (OTCBB:STCL) today announced that the Company has signed an agreement with AKC Marketing, Inc., a nationwide provider of cellular, paging and long-distance services headquartered in Lake Charles, Louisiana. STC will provide AKC Marketing with prepaid cellular products, services and customer support. AKC Marketing will in turn market these services to various retail outlets. ACE Cash Express, Inc., (Nasdaq:AACE), the largest owner, operator and franchisor of retail financial service stores in the United States, is one of the first customers signed by AKC Marketing that will utilize STC's Cellease prepaid cellular platform. Select ACE stores will carry the prepaid cellular phones, while all 1200 plus ACE stores will carry the prepaid airtime cards. STC will provide activation and redemption services as well as customer service and support.
