Shamrock Holdings Inc., the Burbank-based investment firm of Roy Disney Roy Disney can refer to two different people:
  • Roy Oliver Disney (1893-1971) was Walt Disney's older brother and the financier of his efforts.
  • Roy Edward Disney (1930–) is Roy Oliver's son and Director Emeritus of The Walt Disney Company.

The 45,000-square-foot project, located at 4411 Olive Ave., was designed by The Luckman Partnership Inc. of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

Modern Videofilm, a post-production house, is currently negotiating with Shamrock shamrock, a plant with leaves composed of three leaflets. Randy Boggan, Shamrock's director of real estate finance, said the lease negotiations are in their final stages, and that a lease is expected to be signed within the next three weeks.

Modern Videofilm's president, Moshe Barkat, participated in the project's groundbreaking ceremonies this month.

Shamrock Gateway Plaza is Shamrock's third office development in Los Angeles County.

The company's other projects are a 70,000-square-foot office building in Agoura and Shamrock's 40,000-square-foot headquarters building in Burbank, which was the company's first development six years ago.

Shamrock is also a limited partner in the Grand Central Market and Million Dollar Theater Building in downtown Los Angeles Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles, California, located close to the geographic center of the metropolitan area. The sprawling, multi-centered megacity is such that its downtown core is often considered just another district like Hollywood or . The general partner of that project, Ira Yellin, is planning a $25 million renovation of the two historic structures.

"Real estate has always been part of our investment strategy, and will continue to be," Boggan said. "It makes for a good, diversified portfolio. But corporate acquisition will continue to be our major focus."

Corporate acquisitions currently in Shamrock's portfolio include two of the nation's largest chains of music and video stores, the 71-store Music Plus chain and the 140-store Sound Warehouse chain. It also owns 15 radio stations, three television stations and a 15 percent equity stake in Enterra Corp., a Houston-based oil services company.
