), announced today that it has been awarded a $71.8 million contract by the Defense Energy Support Center (DESC desc description

) to deliver fuel to Southern Iraq.

The contract includes the purchase and delivery of 59.4 million gallons of unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel from Jordan to the Ramadi area of Iraq. Fuel delivery under the three-month contract is scheduled to begin on April 1. The contract has three option periods of three months each that could extend the contract through March 31, 2005. In the event all options periods are exercised, the value of the contract would be $287.3 million.

Today, it is a component of the Iraqi Security Forces tasked with assuming responsibility for all Iraqi land-based military operations following the 2003
 training facility in Jordan.
