Sex offence charge; NORTH TODAY: COURT.

A MAN has appeared in court charged with sexual offences going back almost 30 years.

David Miller, 58, is alleged to have carried out an attempted rape on a girl aged under 16 between January 1990 and December 1992.

Miller, of Roseworth Terrace, Whickham, Gateshead, is further accused of six counts of indecent assault on girls aged under 16 between January 1980 and January 1983. No pleas were entered when Miller appeared before Gateshead magistrates. The case has been sent to Newcastle Crown Court. Miller was remanded in custody.
