 has just rolled out its brand new online Practice Management Forums series. The series, free to PCPS members, will consist of live, interactive PowerPoint presentations from nationally known consultants to the profession. CPAs will not only be able to hear from these speakers, but they also will get the opportunity to ask them questions live from the comfort of their own desks. The topics are focused on a variety of critical issues, such as staffing, succession planning Management Succession Planning
In organizational development, succession planning is the process of identifying and preparing suitable employees through mentoring, training and job rotation, to replace key players — such as the chief executive officer (CEO) —
 and workload compression. The topics and speakers for July and Aug. are as follows:

* "Succession Planning for the One- to Five-Partner Firm"--Joel Sinkin, Senior Partner at Accounting Transition Advisors; July 14, 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., ET.

* "Strategic Planning"--Gary Boomer, CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. , CITP (Certified Information Technology Professional) A specialty credential awarded by the AICPA to its CPA members who excel in the provision of technology-related business services. , CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Boomer Consulting; Aug. 9, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., ET.

With succession planning among the top concerns for firms, PCPS and NorthStar Conferences have teamed up to bring you the Emerging Partner Training Forum, running July 19-20 at the AICPA Boardroom in New York New York, state, United States

* Client retention (best practices, being a trusted adviser).

* Marketing (understanding its importance).
