Several Emerging Medtech Companies in the Spotlight on May 15, 2009, Hosted by Life Science Intelligence (LSI).

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- Life Science Intelligence (LSI) announced today that several early stage medical technology companies representing a wide variety of product markets will be showcased at their upcoming Emerging Medical Technologies (EMT) Spotlight - a virtual event being held on May 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. EST. The program will feature select privately held companies with disruptive or emerging technologies competing for important medical device segments, including the $1 billion global small joint implant market and the $3 billion global breast disease detection and diagnostic market. More areas to be addressed include percutaneous heart valve replacement, natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), and pulmonary disease, among others.

The Emerging Medical Technologies (EMT) Spotlight is an online event that serves as a forum for medical technology innovators, investors and deal-makers to connect and collaborate. Registered attendees and select LSI members - which includes the top deal-making companies and venture capital firms - will have an opportunity to quickly and efficiently preview innovative companies and then selectively network using LSI's proprietary and confidential online platform. All of the companies being featured on May 15th are raising venture capital or seeking partnerships and licensing deals with larger medtech companies.

"During these tough economic times, it is more important than ever to be as productive as possible, while keeping expenses down. This venue helps the medtech community do so," says LSI's President Scott Pantel.

This event provides early stage medical device company CEOs with a platform to efficiently share their business development and investment opportunities. Companies currently on the program include: Agendia, CardiAQ Valve Technologies, Insightra Medical, MedInvent, MiMedx, NeoMatrix, Nicast, Novian Health, Tomophase, Uptake Medical, and VIDA Diagnostics.
