Day 3

Stop Global Warming global warming, the gradual increase of the temperature of the earth's lower atmosphere as a result of the increase in greenhouse gases since the Industrial Revolution.  Pledge

Scientists warn that global warming is having--or will have--a negative impact on many species of animals, including humans. Melting polar ice caused by global warming is affecting marine mammals marine mammals

mammals inhabiting the sea; generally taken to include the cetaceans (whales, porpoise, dolphin), the sirenians (sea-cows, including manatees and dugong) and the pinnipeds (the carnivores of the group, seals, sealions, walruses).
like harp seals harp seal, crested earless, or true, seal, Phoca groenlandica, found in the N Atlantic around Greenland and the White Sea. In the spring, harp seals migrate southward to assemble in large groups to breed near the Newfoundland and Norwegian coasts.  and polar bears polar bear, large white bear, Ursus maritimus, formerly Thalarctos maritimus, of the coasts of arctic North America. Polar bears usually live on drifting pack ice, but sometimes wander long distances inland. . Warmer oceans will likely have negative impacts on whales and if semi-arid parts of Africa where elephants live become even drier, elephants will be at greater risk.

The IFAW Stop Global Warming Pledge gives you a chance to help protect the environment. Get your friends and family to sign it, too. Find it at www.animalactionweek.org.
