New York City Ballet New York City Ballet, one of the foremost American dance companies of the 20th cent. It was founded by Lincoln Kirstein and George Balanchine as the Ballet Society in 1946.  announced the choreographers of the Diamond Project festival for its spring season, and guess what? All seven are men: Mauro Bigonzetti Mauro Bigonzetti (b. 1960) Contemporary Italian dancer and choreographer.

Bigonzetti is currently the artistic director of the Aterballetto dance company. Bigonzetti graduated from the School of the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.

Studied: School of American Ballet, New Dance Group, High School of Performing Arts, Richard Thomas.

Performed: At age twelve with New York City Ballet as the Child Prince in George Balanchine's original production of "The Nutcracker" and in the
, Peter Martins, Alexei Ratmansky, and Christopher Wheeldon. A terrific international crew, but couldn't they find a single worthy woman? Diamonds, it seems, are no longer a girl's best friend.
